Three long diagonal cuts open across an ivory field. That is the whole design. Everything depends on where they fall and how deeply they are carved.

There is a moment in postwar art when the cut stopped being damage and became the mark itself — when slicing a surface was understood as the most direct thing an artist could do to it. This piece belongs to that idea: the wool is not decorated, it is opened. In a minimal interior it is often the only gesture a floor needs.

Hand-knotted in Kathmandu on a Tibetan loom, where a continuous yarn is looped around a gauge rod and cut row by row to release the pile. Graded 60, 80 or 100 knot on the Nepali trade's standard scale. Himalayan wool, over 1,400 colours. Made to order in 12 to 16 weeks in production, in your size, your palette and your pile height — every piece woven new, for one interior only.
