Azure Filament

Fine sky-blue filaments sweep across warm beige, so light they almost aren't there. The quietest piece in the collection, and the one that does most for a room already full of texture.

It is the discipline of the single thread of colour — the pinstripe, the selvedge line, the one blue in an otherwise undyed cloth. Restraint of that kind is harder to weave than pattern, because there is nothing to hide behind: every filament has to land exactly where it was drawn.

Hand-knotted in Kathmandu on a Tibetan loom, where a continuous yarn is looped around a gauge rod and cut row by row to release the pile. Graded 60, 80 or 100 knot on the Nepali trade's standard scale. Himalayan wool, over 1,400 colours. Made to order in 12 to 16 weeks in production, in your size, your palette and your pile height — every piece woven new, for one interior only.
