TeHer Art Rugs is proud to present a singular collaboration with acclaimed Peruvian artist Jorge Cabieses, known for his refined visual language that explores abstraction, geometry, and the shifting boundaries between form and space. In this unique textile work, Cabieses translates one of his signature compositions into a meticulously hand-knotted rug that captures the quiet tension and harmony within his practice.
Guided by a sense of balance and spatial rhythm, the design layers geometric fragments and subtle asymmetries, creating a visual field that invites contemplation. It is both minimal and profound—rooted in Latin American abstraction yet deeply personal in its restraint and material sensitivity.
The rug is hand-knotted in Nepal by TeHer’s master artisans, using a considered blend of Tibetan wool, bamboo silk, and natural hemp fiber. These materials were selected not only for their durability and elegance, but for their ability to convey Cabieses’ architectural precision and tonal subtlety through texture and sheen.
This is not simply a decorative piece—it is a sculptural textile, a meditative work where each knot becomes part of a larger visual cadence. Through this collaboration, TeHer continues its mission to bridge contemporary artistic expression with the enduring craft of handwoven textiles—creating timeless works that live at the intersection of art, design, and material poetry.
