Geometric Desert
A relief mosaic of raised squares in desert beige, tone on tone, dense across the entire field. There is no drawing to read — the whole design is surface.
It is the coursing of mudbrick: the oldest way of building a wall, where the module is the hand and the pattern is simply what happens when you repeat it. At floor scale and in a single colour, the effect is closer to a woven basket than to masonry — structure as the only ornament.
Hand-knotted in Kathmandu on a Tibetan loom, where a continuous yarn is looped around a gauge rod and cut row by row to release the pile. Graded 60, 80 or 100 knot on the Nepali trade's standard scale. Himalayan wool, over 1,400 colours. Made to order in 12 to 16 weeks in production, in your size, your palette and your pile height — every piece woven new, for one interior only.
