Deco Blue

A symmetrical Deco composition in deep navy — a central spine the full height, a fan opening at the middle, stepped columns rising either side like a skyline. Dark, formal, and unmistakably a statement floor.

The fan and the stepped column were the ornament of the picture palace and the lobby: architecture designed to be entered rather than merely used. Rendered in one dark blue with the motif drawn in a lighter tone of the same colour, the drama comes from the composition rather than from contrast.

Hand-knotted in Kathmandu on a Tibetan loom, where a continuous yarn is looped around a gauge rod and cut row by row to release the pile. Graded 60, 80 or 100 knot on the Nepali trade's standard scale. Himalayan wool, over 1,400 colours. Made to order in 12 to 16 weeks in production, in your size, your palette and your pile height — every piece woven new, for one interior only.
